Thomas Yonchak, was a waist gunner on the Don Shickel crew (844th Squadron).
Tom’s son Mark Yonchak has done a lot of research into his father and crew, ‘We Weary Warriors’. He discovered the Mission Diary for the crew and donated a copy of this together with some crew photographs to The Mighty Eighth Museum in Savannah, who hold much of the History of the 489th BG.
